Making radish salad with mayonnaise:

Step 1: Prepare the radish.


Rinse the radish thoroughly with running water, cleaning off any dirt with a sponge or brush. Then, using a special knife, remove the skin from the root crop. After cleaning, wash the radish again and then grind it with a coarse or medium grater. Put everything in a deep plate, mix and place in a well-ventilated place on 20-30 minutesso that the taste of the radish becomes softer. You can hold the vegetable in the air and longer. In this case, it is best to mix the pieces of radish every 5-7 minutes.

Step 2: Prepare the onion.


Peel onions, rinse with cool water and cut into small pieces, preferably thin rings, but also small cubes.

Step 3: Mix the radish salad with mayonnaise.


During that time, while the grated radish insisted and “breathed”, it had to lose some of its bitterness and become softer in taste. Add chopped onions to it, pepper and season with mayonnaise with a little sour cream. At the same time, it is best to use home-made mayonnaise to be sure of its quality. Sour cream is needed here in order to slightly soften the taste of bitter radish. After you carefully mix the salad with dressing and spices, it can immediately be served right on the table.

Step 4: Serve the radish salad with mayonnaise.


Serve the finished radish salad with mayonnaise as an appetizer on the dining table, or complement it with a side dish. Of course, it turns out very peculiar, but it is undeniably useful. You can decorate the finished dish with sprigs of fresh herbs or juicy salad leaves.

Recipe Tips:

- Since the radish is so rather bitter, I want to make the onion softer, for this I soak the especially tart vegetables in boiling water for several minutes.

- You can also make a salad of black radish softer by adding a grated sweet and sour apple to it.

- Carrots are also a frequent visitor in salads with radishes. These two root crops combine well with each other.
